Past

In late 1999 / 2000 I took my first astro photography photo's using a friend of mines Pentax K1000 film camera.

These photos were taken at Boyden Observatory, Bloemfontein - South Africa.

Present

Currently, I am assisting a well known and respected Amateur Astronomer, Magda Streicher with astronomy photos of celestial bodies for her astronomy articles.

Some of my most recent and greatest photos are published in her "DeepSky Delights" article in the MNASSA and her "Focus On" articles in the Johannesburg Astronomical Society Centre's monthly newsletter, called Canopus.

MNASSA stands for "The Monthly Notes of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa". It is an international known astronomy journal.

My astronomy photos are also used for educational purposes in the local astronomy club's newsletter & the local newspaper. On a regular basis, some of my best astro photos are also published on the ASSA web site.

Future

Even though I am an amateur when it comes to astro photography, I am proud of what I have accomplished so far!

The success of my photos has been achieved without fancy and expensive astronomical equipment. I use basic equipment and techniques.

The most important thing to have however, is a passion for astronomy and sheer dedication.

I am looking forward to taking even better astronomical photos of our Southern Hemisphere's skies in the near future!
